Jewelry Armoires
Jewelry armoires come with
a multitude of divided compartments and drawers, to protect
or showcase each separate jewelry item, as well as fold out
tops and sides, with an attached mirror. Some have locks so
that you can further protect your valuables. The armoire is
a versatile piece of furniture that often has secret or hidden
drawers and catches; and can store anything from brooches,
rings, necklaces and bracelets, to family heirlooms and pocket
watches. They are an elegant way to take care of your jewelry
and ensure its preservation, so that you can enjoy it for
years to come.
Some types of Armoires include:
Revolving jewelry
armoires- The jewelry armoire case
sits on four legs and can swivel similar to a revolving tie
rack. Allows you to prepare without getting up to look for
something in a hard-to-reach drawer. Prices start at $200
and up.
Palais jewelry armoires- The king of maximizing space. Includes
pullout drawers, lift up top and sides as well as necklace
hooks on doors.
Vanity jewelry
armoires- More sprawling and spacious than the two above,
this vanity includes a bench, desk-like space, and a large
mirror.
Armoire chest- Less feminine and more practical looking than
the revolving, palais, and vanity jewelry
armoires. Takes up less space in bedroom.
Hand painted- These are specially hand-painted in a variety
of patterns and colors, but the most popular are the floral
motifs.
The Heirloom- Usually made from mahogany or cherry
wood, they can be elegantly embossed or hand-painted,
and come with velvet-lined drawers and carving or detailing
on the base, as well as victorian-style handles.
